Failed to retrieve suggestions error displayed many times when search is made with a disabled user account

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Login as Admin
2. Create an user (e.g. U1)
3. Go to user's profile page
4. Click 'Disable this account'
5. Login with U1
6. Type a page name in quick search bar

EXPECTED RESULTS

On the bottom of the page is displayed the reason why the search cannot be performed (e.g. 'This account is disabled').

ACTUAL RESULTS

The red error message 'Failed to retrieve suggestions: ' is displayed 6 times at once, without the reason why that happens (the user must deduce it's because his account is disabled, but it's not obvious all the times).

Also, the spinning wheel from the search bar keeps spinning after the error messages disappear.
