includeMacro() no longer works in XE 2.4

The Balsamiq Mockups plugin has historically been using

{{velocity}}{{html}}#includeMacros("Mockups.MacrosV2"){{/html}}{{/velocity}}

at the top of a page with embedded mockups. This syntax is failing in 2.4 and is creating issues for people needing to migrate to 2.4. Any suggestions for a quick fix (other than moving to

{{include document="Mockups.MacrosV2"}}

which I have implemented but not yet released because these installations will have possibly many pages with the old syntax).
