Provide functions to velocity to allow javascript style XDOM manipulation.

It would be very nice to be able to manipulate the webpage from velocity or groovy using javascript style functions on the XDOM.
1. Increased security because user supplied content would be able to be put in an element and not parsed along with privileged code.
2. When the user templates are ported to syntax 2.0, scripts will be able to manipulate the entire web page.
3. Better control over output, newlines won't break XHTML validity of a velocity script.
