Provide a way to get the platform version

Would be nice to be able to get the version of a platform version for itself or anyone using it.

Probably mean adding some version module in which the version is set at build time or which is extracting the version from its own pom.properties in /META-INF/maven/<groupid>/<artifactid>/pom.properties
