changes made during an asynchronous merge are overwritten

When a client attempts to call the server to return the contents of a three way merge, there is a delay while they wait for the merged content to be returned.

If another client in the realtime session has made changes to the textarea within that time, those changes will be overwritten once the merged text is inserted into the textarea.
