      Pros:

      • Ability to integrate easily external libraries contributing servlets, filters, etc (e.g. Restlet)
      • Ability to use webjars (see http://www.webjars.org/documentation), i.e. we can use any js framework easily in an extension and use it through requirejs
      • Easy upgrades (no more need - or less needs - to merge web.xml)

      Cons:

      I feel that we could maybe do this move in the 5.x timeframe (ie in XWiki 5.2 or 5.3)... The pros are so interesting that it's hard to resist
