Cache tab contents

The content of a tab should be cached, so that when selecting it, a (possibly deprecated) list of items is displayed very fast, while a background request fetches the updated list, which will replace the tab content when the request completes. Currently, although the selected tab changes, the user must stare several seconds to a blank tab until the results finally appear.
