Errornous rendering of links to page anchors

Consider the following wiki link to an anchor within the current page:

[[link>>#id]]

If this content is put inside page Main.Test the rendered html looks like below:

<span class="wikilink"><a href="/xwiki/bin/view/Main/#id">link</a></span>

As you can see, the anchor link leads to somewhere else
