Provide a way to get EntityReference from opaque database ID to ease implementation of APIs which provide only ID.

In order to replace document ID with document reference at the storage level, we need a way to convert reference to ID and ID to reference. This will allow us to build clean (fully qualified) reference based APIs and adapt them to legacy APIs which offer only an ID number.
