Inheritance when reusing library content results in errors

cenarios:

• A master page is unversioned. It uses versioned library content 1.0 and 2.0. These versions have different content.
  • Flipping between versions accurately reflects different versions of the library.
  • Publishing the page (after publishing the library) is fine.
  • No issues here.
• Same setup, only with versioned pages.
  • Page version 2.0 inherits from 1.0. There is no "real" 2.0 page. This page uses versioned library content.
  • Flipping between the pages ONLY shows 1.0 content.
  • Publishing 2.0 results in an error.
