Unlimited Solr queries cause huge memory usage on wikis with many documents

Resolvers query wikis using Solr to find the requested Confluence pages with unlimited Solr queries for a number of reasons. We need to do it differently as no limit causes huge performance issues on instances with a large number of documents.
