Creating an external link removes the text located after the linked selection

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a paragraph containing some text.
2. Select one or more words in the paragraph.
3. Create a link from the selected text, either: the URL to the home page, or any external URL.
4. Confirm the link creation.

Actual Result

The text located after the newly created link is removed from the editor content. page content after created link.png

Expected Result

The remaining text in the paragraph should remain unchanged.

Sidenote

The removed text can be restored using Ctrl+Z while still in editing mode. However, if the page is saved before, the unintended text deletion is preserved in the saved content.
