New home, search widget- Direct code search widget to avoid double page load and to enable browser back.

In the current search widget on the new home page, browser back does not take you back to the home page.

For the search widget for the new home page, don't pass the radio button values via a cookie, but rather have the widget generate (Or look-up) the long URL needed to go directly too the search result. This will allow the back button to function.
