Description
1. Go to this abstract page, http://welcome.curriki.org/about-curriki/team/
2. Go to this abstratc page, http://welcome.curriki.org/about-curriki/board/
3. Edit any of the sub pages such as http://welcome.curriki.org/team/kim-jones-chairman-and-ceo/
Changes to the sub page should be reflected on the abstract page.
You can edit them here on Beta: http://beta.welcome.curriki.org/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=team
Notes from my email.
I looked into WordPress on Beta to figure out why edits to the Team Member and also Board Member description does not update the summary page.
Changes to the name and title update without any issue but the excerpt does not. Here is the PHP code that grabs the data:
<div class="pane clearfix">
<?php the_post_thumbnail('thumbnail', array('class' => 'left frame')); ?>
<div style="float:right; width:570px;">
<h4><?php the_title(); ?>, <?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'Title', true) ?></h4>
<p><?php the_excerpt(); ?></p>
<p><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>">Read More</a></p>
</div>
I really do not know PHP but you can see above one line gets the image, the next gets the title of the person, the next gets the excerpt, and final line the link to that member.
The code appears to be working as we can all see an excerpt but why it is not updating is a mystery. Perhaps the supercache plugin we are using is preventing the page from updating. My simple conclusion is that it is a caching issue but it will take an experience WordPress engineer to figure this one out.
The problem exists on both the Team Member and Board Member summary pages, which makes sense as they are all part of the same page but divided into different categories.
