Description
The JW Player macro builds its player with JavaScript. In the WYSIWYG editor it only shows "Loading the video player...", which never changes, so the user cannot see which video the macro plays.
The fix is done in JWPlayer.xml: in the editor, show a frame of the size of the player with a play icon and the name of the video, or its preview image when one is set, instead of the loading message.
Depends on
- XWIKI-25523, which gives the macros a supported way to know they are rendered for the WYSIWYG editor and a shared edit-mode representation to reuse.
KOs covered
| Macro | Criterion | Problem | Depends on |
|---|---|---|---|
| jwplayer | E1 wysiwyg | The editor shows only "Loading the video player...", right after the insertion and after reopening the page, and it never changes, while view mode shows the player. | XWIKI-25523 |
Impact found on macro fluidity
This KO comes from the WYSIWYG usability audit of the macros, under the criterion E1 wysiwyg of its usability criteria, which accepts a dedicated edit representation that keeps the meaning of the macro. The page of the macro, linked in the table, has the full notes and the steps to reproduce. Fixing it means giving the macro an edit-mode representation built on XWIKI-25523.
