Support multi-line equations with alignment

When I enter a formula containing the LaTeX environment "align", in order to display a multi-line equation, the equation is displayed as a single line.

For example, when I enter this:

{{formula}}
\begin{align}
a + b &= c\\
z &= x + y
\end{align}
{{/formula}}

XWiki is rendering everything in one line instead of a multi-line equation system. See attached image below.

Please add support for proper rendering of multi-line equations.
