Horizontal line incorrectly translated

An XWiki horizontal line is translated to

\hline 

which is only valid in a table environment. I currently use

\noindent\rule{\textwidth}{0.4pt}\vspace{0.5\baselineskip}

but the spacing might be a matter of taste.
