Syntax check on save

If you fail to close markup (i.e. you type "*" to make the following word bold, but miss to type "*" again at the end of the word), you will probably notice only, when you try to compile the generated LaTeX, which makes it very hard to trace back the error. A sanity check on "save" would be very welcome.
