Verbatim content is lost when rendering to CommonMark Markdown 1.2

When rendering to markdown/1.2, verbatim content (e.g. {{{x|y}}} in xwiki/2.1) is not rendered at all, since the Markdown renderer doesn't handle verbatim events. The content is silently lost, e.g. when converting a page to Markdown.

Expected

Verbatim content is rendered (e.g. as inline code or a code block, or escaped text), without losing it.
