Adding event with apostrophe in title causes other events to not display in Agenda, Month and Day view

If I add an event with an apostrophe in the title (e.g. "Washington's Birthday"), all of my events in the agenda view, month and day views disappear. If I then delete this new event, then my existing events are shown again. It appears that the apostrophe character is causing issues when fetching the list of events.
