Group Synchronization does not escape dots in group names

Considering the following value in the specified group claim: "my.group"

Expected: New group named "my.group" saved under reference XWiki.my\.group

Actual behavior: New group named "group" saved under reference XWiki.my.group

Since one is able to create groups with dots in their names from XWiki UI I assume this is an escaping error in the group synchronization feature. Synchronization still works and groups stay unique via their references but the change in name makes rights management difficult.
