Jira macro doesn't display anything if the page name contains "." on Tomcat

Since the introduction of the async rendering of Jira Macro the macro is not displayed anymore on page containing a ".".
Apparently there a 400 request error on the page with some escaped dots, such as:

https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/asyncrenderer/rendering/macro/jira/xwiki%3AReleaseNotes.Data.XWiki.12%5C.2%5C.1.WebHome/1/74499?clientId=74499&timeout=500&wiki=xwiki

when removing the escape before the "." the request is working properly.
