Provide a Tomcat 9 based Debian package

The current version of XWiki install usingTomcat 8, i've been looking at how to migrate this over to the latest version of tomcat which at this point is 9.0.5 (https://tomcat.apache.org/download-90.cgi). Tomcat 8 will no longer be supported after June 2018 (https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-80-eol.html) from a security point of view using the latest software is essential especially for any users having this service publicly available.

Is there a plan to create the latest version to install with tomcat 9 as opposed to tomcat 8?

I'm currently using Ubuntu 16.04 and when 18.04 LTS comes out i will migrate. I install using the repo so was hoping that before tomcat 8 stops being supported that a tomcat 9 compatible version is released.

I've been looking at migrating it myself but this is proving difficult as i'm not a developer.
