    Description

      The new API needs to easily allow changing the CAPTCHA implementation without updating any of the places that already use a previous implementation. This needs to cover both the display and the validation aspects.

      The previous API was not offering any solution for the display part and was also needlesly complicated. It has been retired as a Contrib extension for whoever needs it. See XWIKI-15584
