Description
What currently happens
Users who start using XWiki and leave any page open in a separate tab might forget about it or decide to work on other pages. Upon returning to the initially opened page, if they try to edit it, they see an error message "Failed to lock the page" (how it looks can be seen in image).
And this message isn't useful. This can be frustrating as the user may not immediately understand what action to take. After refreshing the page, they can make modifications, but the process is not intuitive.
Cause
Users seem to be losing the authentication session after a significant amount of time.
What can be done
Modify the pop-up message with more transparent information:
- suggest refreshing the page to regain authentication and continue editing
- or warn/notify in advance that the session is about to expire, encouraging the user to refresh the page.
