Description
Renaming a page or space that belongs to the XWiki Standard Flavor (e.g. Main or XWiki spaces and children ) removes it from the Distribution Wizard upgrade path, so it silently stops receiving updates.
Steps to reproduce
- Rename a space, e.g. Main → CustomMain (child pages are moved too).
- Upgrade XWiki and run the Distribution Wizard.
Compare Main.SolrSearch (original) with CustomMain.SolrSearch (renamed copy).
Actual behavior
CustomMain.* keeps the old page code after the upgrade. At Main.* the update is not applied either: the automatic redirect left by the rename stays in place, or a merge conflict is asked, or nothing is restored. The instance still reports the new version, so it looks upgraded while these pages are stale.
Expected behavior
Distribution Wizard should not silently skip a flavor page that was moved. It should either warn about it, or follow the move when the old location holds a redirect that XWiki itself created during the rename.
Workaround
Move the pages back to their original location and run the upgrade again. Delete the automatic redirects at the old locations first.
Proposal
Deny rename for these page, only superadmin to be able to rename them.
