Description
When the gallery macro is inserted from the Quick Actions menu, the Edit Macro dialog opens, while the figure and container macros, which also hold other content, are inserted right away and their content is edited in place. The gallery content is mandatory and uses a format of its own: a plain text list of images in wiki syntax, one per line, like image:Space.Page@alice.png, typed in a text area of the dialog. A user who learned figure or container expects to insert the gallery and then add the images in the page.
KOs covered
| Macro | Criterion | Problem |
|---|---|---|
| gallery | L1 consistency | Mandatory content in a format of its own, so the Quick Action opens the Edit Macro dialog, unlike figure and container. |
Impact found on macro fluidity
This KO comes from the WYSIWYG usability audit of the macros, under the criterion L1 consistency of its usability criteria, which checks that a macro behaves like the other macros of the same kind for the mandatory content, the insertion process and its default parameter values. The page of the macro has the full notes, and the L1 consistency table tracks the progress on this criterion.
