Usability issue: tables

Tables are very difficult to work with.

1. The table grid is too faint. It is extremely dfficult to distinguish the rows and columns in a new table.
2. Cannot size columns.
3. Cannot merge table cells.
4. Cannot create a bulleted list within the table.
5. Text should align to the top left of the table cell, not the middle.
