Section editing doesn't use translated content

My XE 2.7 instance is set to be non-multilingual and German. So when I got to /XWiki/XWikiSyntax I get the German translation of that page.

In order to translate the original English page I started to view the page, hit the edit button at the top of the page and then pasted all the content from http://svn.xwiki.org/svnroot/xwiki/enterprise/trunk/wiki/src/main/resources/XWiki/XWikiSyntax.xml into the edit area. I then translated all of it.

Problem is, when I now review my translation I notice that as soon as I hit the section edit buttons I am not forwarded to the edit of the German page but the underlying English page. When I use the edit button at the top of the page it works, however, and I can edit the German page.

The skin is a very slightly modified (just a hand full of CSS styles) Colibri skin.

Any suggestions?
