IE8 doesn't highlight comment content when using the Permalink

steps to reproduce:

• add a comment on a page.
• go to the comment, click the permalink and click go to permalink

you wil lbe redirected to a page which lists all the comments, and highlight with yellow the one you used the permalink on.

On IE8, you won't get the comment content + author highlighted, thus defeating the purpose of the permalink and making it hard to identify to which comment the permalink points to.

The attached image should highlight the first comment, but it doesn't.
