Unable to edit annotaion from Comments tab

steps to reproduce:

• go to a page that has annotations
• in the comments tab, click the edit icon (pencil)
• under some circumstances, you will get a "This annotation does not exist anymore. Please refresh the page for an updated view." error

This only happens when you edit the annotation from the Comments tab.
The issue reproduces very easily on IE8. On IE9 and FF 11.0 works sometimes.
