In-place editing lock warning cannot be dismissed properly

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Login as Admin
2. Edit a page in-place
3. Open the page in another browser or an incognito window
4. Login with another user
5. Edit the same page in-place
6. When the page lock warning is displayed, click 'Cancel' or 'Force editing', or click on 'X' in the upper right

EXPECTED RESULTS

The lock warning box closes, following the chosen user action: 'Cancel' or 'Force editing'.

ACTUAL RESULTS

The lock warning box cannot be closed (unless the page is refreshed). The following error is displayed in browser's console:

The issue reproduces also on 14.1 RC1 and could not be reproduced on XWiki 14.0.
