Description
After upgrading to 16.x with realtime editor, there is no „Summary“ text field next to the „Finish“ button anymore, for the sake of the more hidden „Summarize Changes“ feature as discussed in this forum thread.
Unfortunately, with xwiki.editcomment.mandatory=1 enabled in the administration settings, users are forced to enter a summary for all the background saves, too. This happens with a popup message jumping at the users WHILE they type, also stealing input focus. When you don't have your eyes on the screen, your continued typing goes into the input box and is – in the worst case – even submitted by pressing Enter.
What's even worse: If you happen to have multiple tabs with realtime editing sessions open, the popups even steal tab focus and you jump to another tab, which is really interrupting.
The forum thread also discusses one or two possible solution apporaches.
I know that 16.x is EOL and CKEDITOR is being deprecated, but from the changelogs I could not see that has being addressed in 17.x branch yet. (Wasn't able to test 17.x yet, so please bear with me).
